Greenwood MS Room Concepts: Floor plan modifications

The plan below reflect modifications discussed from a detailed Room-by-Room meeting with the Greenwood Middle School administrative staff. Some of the highlight changes are as follows:

FIRST FLOOR MODIFICATIONS

Main entry will provide direct access to the cafeteria for breakfasts without entering the rest of the school.
Access to the Clinic from the Reception area was added for parent pick-up or drop off.
The Teacher Dining Room has been relocated to the south of the cafeteria with access from the Commons.
A Maintenance work area has been added, as well as additional Main Gym storage adjacent to the Teacher Dining.
PE Coaches offices have been modified to include a shower. The associated locker rooms have been reconfigured to provide a more contiguous room layout.
The football locker room has been enlarged to hold 80 lockers.
The storage rooms to the south of the Wrestling Room have been modified to be one storage room with access from the exterior and from the locker room.
The Choir Ensemble Room has been eliminated and the space is now part of the Choir Room. this area will be used for keyboarding or other breakout activities. The adjacent Band Ensemble Room that includes Practice modules flipped to accommodate this modification.
The Choir Office has been subdivided to provide dedicated robe storage area at the east end of the room.
The Essential Skills Room restrooms have been modified to include a shower in one of the rooms with a changing bench.
The Resource Room dividing partition has been deleted.
The Team Room operable partition has been deleted.
The interior window walls along the Resource Room and Team Room from the Corridor have been replaced with solid walls with lockers. High windows will be provided over the lockers to allow natural light from the rooms to spill into the corridor to some degree.
The lockers at the east end of the classroom wing corridors have been deleted. Display cases have been added along the Projects Room wall.

SECOND FLOOR MODIFICATIONS

Media Center reception desk has been modified to be curved to soften the relationship it has with the space.
The south Computer Resource room will be used as Green Screen and includes an infinity wall on the south side of the room.
Industrial Tech room has been laid out with the latest Synergy furniture modules. The adjacent "shop" area will be flexible to allow for a variety of equipment. Equipment to be provided will utilize local dust collection (wet/dry vac) in lieu of centralized dust collection system. Large storage area is located to the north of the shop area.
Cardio/Weights Room is sized for 40 different activity stations.
